A project to provide internet resources to the most remote parts of the world , because we think the internet is everyone’s right!

What is Hack Box?

Hack Box is an initiative to provide digital resources (courses,programming software,books etc) to the most remote part of the world.This is achieved via a software Hack Store (this link is to a dummy online version!) which runs completely offline.

Hack Store is a web application that is being used to provide free digital resources in the hack box program.

It uses an SD card to serve all its files! and hence works offline.

Philosophy

More than 40% of the world's population has no or very limited access to the internet and is deprived of the resources available on internet which we take for granted. This problem needs to be solved!

EQUALITY

We are blessed with the internet and are regularly upskilling ourselves but there are still millions who lag access to these wonderful resources. We are trying to bridge this gap.

How it works?

Hack Box sends SD cards containing a Raspberry Pi system image to people and this SD card contains all the digital resources and software to work offline! People just need to plug the SD card and can start enjoying these resources.

SHIP

We ship people the Hack Box SD card ,It contains all the resources and Hack Box software Hack Store.

INSTALL

Just plug the SD card in the PI and done! Hack Store is now available over LAN ( i.e WiFi ) to everyone!

UPDATE

Update it over a period of time by downloading a new system image in small chunks via a download manager.

Where is the code?

The code of the project is open source and is available on Github, we also have some project documentation there. We welcome countribution in any form to the project!

We are in Beta!
